Transition lenses, or photochromic lenses, to keep things simple, are lenses that adjust to changes in light to optimize your eyesight. If it’s exposed to UV rays, the lenses trigger a chemical reaction to darken the lenses, and it lightens up back to a clear state when you’re back indoors or during the night. The lenses only react to short wavelengths so even if you look at electrical lighting, it won’t change at all.
